For over 35 years, Bhoomika Theatre Group has been creating meaningful theatre experiences through original productions, actor training, children’s theatre, and storytelling. Rooted in Indian traditions and inspired by contemporary voices, we continue to build a community where theatre connects generations.
In 1989, theatre practitioner G. Udaya Bhanu Garikipati founded Bhoomika Theatre Group with a simple yet powerful belief—that theatre has the ability to educate, inspire, question, and bring people together.
Our journey began with Kaki Bangaram, a Telugu adaptation of Vijay Tendulkar’s Pahije Jathiche. What started as a single production soon evolved into one of Hyderabad’s most respected theatre groups, producing original works and acclaimed adaptations in Telugu, Hindi, and Deccani.
For more than three decades, Bhoomika has remained committed to creating meaningful theatre while nurturing audiences, actors, and storytellers alike.
Our mission is to make theatre accessible to people of all ages by creating meaningful performances, nurturing aspiring actors, introducing children to the performing arts, preserving India’s storytelling traditions, and building a vibrant theatre community that values creativity, empathy, and collaboration.
We envision a future where theatre continues to thrive as a powerful medium for artistic expression, education, and social dialogue. Through performances, training, storytelling, and community engagement, Bhoomika strives to inspire future generations while preserving the rich cultural heritage that shapes our identity.
Bhoomika today is much more than a theatre production company. We continue to nurture creativity through initiatives such as:
Helping aspiring actors discover the craft of performance through practical theatre training.
Weekly live storytelling sessions that encourage imagination, curiosity, and a love for literature.
Creative theatre workshops designed to build confidence, communication, collaboration, and self-expression in children.
Bringing live theatre into neighbourhoods and communities, making performances accessible beyond traditional auditoriums.
Every performance, workshop, and storytelling session is an invitation to experience the transformative power of theatre. Whether you’re an aspiring actor, a parent seeking creative opportunities for your child, or someone who simply loves the performing arts, Bhoomika welcomes you.
