What is Mungitlo Natakam?
Theatre Belongs to Everyone
In 2004, Bhoomika Theatre Group launched Mungitlo Natakam with a simple yet powerful idea – to take theatre beyond auditoriums and bring it closer to people.
Over the next two years, the group travelled across Hyderabad, performing nearly 30 free productions in residential colonies and community spaces. The initiative introduced hundreds of families to the joy of live theatre before taking a pause due to logistical challenges.
Revived in 2019, Mungitlo Natakam continues its mission of making theatre accessible to everyone. Today, it brings together children, parents, grandparents, and neighbours through engaging storytelling sessions and live theatrical performances.

Over 150 storytelling sessions later, this beloved initiative continues to inspire children and families across Hyderabad.

The host community only needs to provide a suitable performance space, a power connection, and seating arrangements for the audience.
We bring the actors, storytellers, costumes, makeup, lights, production equipment, and everything required to stage the performance.
Communities can host storytelling sessions for children, live theatre productions for families, or a combination of both, depending on the event and audience.
The duration varies depending on the selected performance and audience. We’ll discuss the most suitable format during the planning process.
